Elliot Yamin, Singer, USA, Wait for You

Elliot Yamin

His first radio single after American Idol, "Wait for You," was released on march 13th, 2007.  7 Days later he released his album, selling 100,000 copies in its first week, making it the highest ever for an indie album.  The song reached 13 overall and 5 on the U.S. Pop Charts.  It was RIAA Certified Gold as well.

Elliot insists he wrote it for a real person, who he loves and hasn't still returned to him, be he believes she still loves him.  Many want to know who she is, but he has never revealed her name.

Yamin was born in Los Angeles, California to father Shaul Yamin, an Israeli of Iraqi Jewish descent, and mother Claudette Goldberg Yamin.  At the age of 13, after suffering numerous ear infections, Elliot lost 90% of his hearing following eardrum replacement surgery in his right ear.  As a singer, overcoming such a loss is a very difficult task requiring much discipline.

Elliot serves as a spokesperson for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.  Yamin, himself, suffers from Diabetes and has performed at many events on behalf of this cause.
